Fenomena Pembentukan Groupthink dalam Aksi Unjuk Rasa Mahasiswa

Abstract

The students’ demonstration was formed by struggling spirit, but the friction often arose when they had different ideas such as the yells during the action, the choices of field coordinator (Korlap) moreover the determination to carry out the demonstration. This study is aimed to assess the students’ differences or friction among them in relation to the demonstrations in rejecting the hike of fuel price and the decisions they have taken have exceeded their rational considerations so that there is a consensus or agreement between them. By using qualitative research methods and a phenomenological approach, it is found that in the decision making taken by the demonstration group is fluid in an organizational context, so the development of norms in decision making follows unwritten conventions, that decisions are based on deliberation to reach consensus. Thus things that are considered irrational are not accommodated in demonstrations.
