Peran Tokoh Masyarakat Dalam Komunikasi Kelompok Untuk Melestarikan Tradisi 20 Mei Di Negeri Tatengesan Raya

Abstract

Communication plays an important role in the process of achieving a goal and all the purposes can be obtained easily. This study aims to determine the factors that cause changes in this tradition and to find out the role of group communication in preserving it. The theory of group communication, social and cultural change were used as the theoretical foundation. While the method which is used in this research is the descriptive qualitative method. The result reveals that the role of supportive group communication is important in this 20^th  May tradition. The communication technique of this special group is by providing information to the community, advice, solutions, and sanctions. The factors which make this tradition changes are the leadership cycle and technology.  Each leader has his leadership style, the incoming technological intervention makes people no longer heed this traditionnewcomers’ residents also contribute to the changes.
